PRESENTERS

GET INVOLVED

Insightful speakers are what will make this event unique as they share personal accounts of the challenges faced in transitioning towards a different environment. Speakers will range from industry leaders to recent graduates holding a junior position as well as management or human resource personnel from industrial and government organizations.

This 1-day event will closely mirror the format of a research conference and is scheduled to occur at the University of Alberta on March 28th. It will open with several workshops available to our graduate students, followed by parallel sessions with career talks and networking opportunities. Each of these sessions will last for 60 minutes and will feature 3-4 panelists, of which we were hoping you would be one of them. Each panelist is invited to give a 5 to 10 minute introduction, after which the session will break-out into smaller group discussions with individual speakers for follow-up questions. Lunch will be provided at mid-day and we hope you will be able to join us for some networking over lunch.

Small group discussions in an informal setting will promote conversations between speakers and students. As this is not a career fair, we encourage speakers to focus on their career paths more than on their current employers. Our graduate students will be especially happy to learn of additional certificates/experiences that assisted you in obtaining the position you hold now.
