Staff Scientist
TELUS World of Science - Edmonton
While pursuing a MSc in Mathematics at the University of Alberta, Samantha discovered the joys and rewards of engaging in outreach education. As the leader of the math graduate students' outreach program, she visited Edmonton schools to share the wonder and beauty of mathematics with students. In 2009, she turned that hobby into a career when she joined the TELUS World of Science as an Outreach Coordinator. As a part of the Science in Motion team, she traveled around Alberta to provide outreach science education to students from kindergarten to grade 12 in the communities she visited. Last year, Samantha decided to take on a new challenge and joined the public programs team at TWOSE as a Staff Scientist. In this role, she spends a lot of time working on creative and fun ways to bring math into the everyday lives of the general public.
